Ecklectika Consignment Storefront on Adams Ave.
On my latest visit to San Diego I strolled along the quaint Antique Row of Adams Avenue and discovered a street full of treasures and personality. I first visited Gledhill's(read last weeks story for more on Gledhill's) and after Gledhill's I crossed the street and walked down a block to Ecklectika Consignment.

Owner, Shirley Coburn greeted me with her pooch Buddha who sat camouflaged on the antique sofa near her desk.

I asked Shirley how her store was doing and she smiled and pointed to the shiny plaque hanging on the wall which read "San Diego's Best 2010". Her store was voted best Antique store by the San Diego Union Tribune!

Vintage Typewriter: Ernest Hemingway Era
Shirley's store, Ecklectika is full of fun and unique items like the vintage typewriter pictured above. All of her prices are very reasonable and the inventory is constantly changing. Shirley also is a dog lover, as you can tell, and she helps stray and abandoned dogs find new homes.
